3 Ways to Keep Your Car Clean When You Have Messy Children

If you are a parent, you can appreciate the shock of viewing the back seat of your vehicle and seeing a range of toys, food crumbs, mystery spills, and troubling interior damage. Without a good set of practices and car rules for kids riding in the back seat, your car can quickly turn into a hot mess. Here are a few tips that will help you keep your vehicle clean even if you have messy kids:

No Food Allowed

Creating a no food rule while in the vehicle is an easy answer to a crumb-filled back seat. Not allowing food to be consumed while in the car will significantly cut down on spills and food from hiding in the crevices. This will be an easy rule to enforce if you only ride with your children in the vehicle for short trips. However, this rule may be more difficult to enforce for a road trip. In this case, try snacks that are easy to eat.

Bath Rug for a Floor Mat

Whether from spilled drinks and food or dirty shoes, the floor mats can easily take the most damage. If you have a few extra bath rugs, consider placing them under the seats of your vehicle. This not only protects the floor mats, but it makes it simple to clean up any food the children may have dropped.

Cupcake Liners in Cup Holders

Keep the cup holders in your car clean by placing cupcake liners inside of them. Not only does this keep the inside of the cup holder clean, but this also makes cleaning out the cup holders easy. Simply remove the used cupcake liner, throw it away, and replace it with a new one when needed.
